Title
Sensor data association test methodology for the seawolf mid-life update programme
Abstract:
The SeaWolf Mid-Life Update (SWMLU) programme is a major upgrade to the UK Royal Navy's principal point defence weapon system. The upgrade includes the addition of an Electro-Optic (EO) sensor to upgraded radars. The processing of sensor data into a coherent fused picture is a key element of the overall system design.
A test methodology is required which exercises the behaviour of the sensors and data association function at a fidelity consistent with obtaining representative functional behaviour whilst also providing statistically reliable results.
This paper presents the data association process test methodology followed in the SWMLU programme. A hierarchy of software test environments for the sensor and data association functions is discussed.
