Title

An overview of the sensor requirement relaxation and image volume registration innovation studies for the SEAS DTC

Abstract:

A summary of the results from two research investigations into sensor specification relaxation and image volume registration is presented.

The objective of the former study was to develop new processing concepts that would enable the effective deployment of commercially available imaging sensors on low-cost UAV platforms.

Within the second study, a range of novel algorithmic designs and processing architectures were investigated for combining image data from multiple UAV positions.

Both studies produce encouraging results in terms of performance as well as presenting potential for real-time implementation. Both innovation studies were performed by Waterfall Solutions Ltd within the SEAS DTC.
