Review of mathematical optimisation techniques

To help our client solve a particularly challenging multi-vehicle optimisation problem, we recently conducted a study of Mathematical Optimisation Techniques.

In this thorough review we detailed standard 'tried and tested' techniques through to advanced, 'state-of-the-art' methods still being researched.

By focusing on the application area of interest and developing a full understanding of our client's issues we were able to recommend the most appropriate optimisation solution that will meet all of the system requirements.

Examples of techniques covered in the study include:

  • Heuristic methods
  • Simulated annealing
  • Genetic algorithms
  • Probabilistic methods
  • Linear programming
  • Quadratic programming
  • Stochastic programming
